Mix-Tape Wednesdays: Fake Blood Contest Mixes

One of my current favourite DJ/Producer is Fake Blood, I have been a huge fan of his mixes for the longest time. And he will be making a stop in Toronto at Mod Club on Friday, March 18th. Earlier this week Embrace Presents announced a contest for DJ’s across Toronto to create an original mixtape and the DJ with the most “likes” will have a chance to open for Fake Blood. I have to give so much credit to these guys, I have always been a huge fan of their work. And since their release of REMATCH, The White Panda have gotten a bigger and much more respected name in the blogosphere. Rematch features 47 mash-up tracks with over 100 different samples from various artists. Although this mix-tape is a bit old, I wanted to share it with everyone and show how much work and detail that goes into making a mash-up and mix-tape.

FEBRUARY 2010: Mash-Up Mondays

I wish I had more time to write about each of these tracks and the DJ’s who made them, but right now it’s midterm season. I’m filming a documentary this semester and bunch of other things that keeps popping up. Hopefully when school is over I’ll try to write more about who I feature. Tomorrow I’ll be on air on SpiritLive.Net. I will be talking a lot about my documentary since Production starts THIS Wednesday. Great DJ’s lined up and it will feature some amazing Toronto Electro Blogs. So definitely come back to look out for the trailer which should be released by next month. I’ll write more of this on Tuesday night, along with some local Toronto events I want you guys to check out if you live in the area – I’ll be there to film it!
